De Romein en Eiffage Infra-Bau celebrate the signing of the contract with Amprion for the Rhein-Main Link
On Monday, 23 September 2024, a big celebration was held to mark the signing of the contract between the joint venture De Romein Group/Eiffage Infra-Bau and the transmission system operator Amprion for the civil engineering services for the Rhein-Main Link project
The spirit and ‘team spirit’ with which this joint venture will be implemented and concluded was symbolically emphasised by specially branded football shirts worn by representatives of De Romein, Eiffage Infra-Bau and Amprion.
De Romein and Eiffage Infra-Bau were commissioned by Amprion to provide civil engineering services for the construction of the future energy corridor required to transport the electricity generated by offshore wind farms in the North Sea to the Rhein-Main region.
The contract includes the creation of a 600 kilometre long cable system from Lower Saxony to the Rhein-Main economic region in Hesse.
De Romein and Eiffage Infra-Bau will now start the preparatory phase of the project together with Amprion. Construction of the Rhine-Main Link is scheduled to start in 2028 and is expected to be completed in 2033.
